i watched this british tv show called the it crowd. good glory to the nerd! my laughing stock went through the roof. sell! sell! what else? oh this norwegian film was viewed tonight, o'horten. twas good but you mighta had toa been there if ya know what i mean. i was livin in norway for some five years ago for a good two years. so i was understanding the norwegian and remembering some of the places and giving a general "oh yes, i get it, i totally know what this is talking about." same thing with this nick and nora movie. they were going about in new york city. a place i was living just last year for a few months. i count it. whudovit? this girl ends up in veselka, the cross streets you ask? 2nd and 9th. just a few blocks from my room. on the way home from where i was working. where i would often go in the mid of night to fill up with chocolate custard dessert(the best) and a warm apple cider, a season specialty. the late fall winds were something to fear and to combat against with comfort foods. it is something that is passing though my mind often these days. its true that all i can remember is good. the bitter has vanished with time and only the sweet remains. except for those good bitter flavours. like dark chocolate.

the medina county fair was a month ago. its a silly nostalgic thing to go to. it was always a place to meet up during the summer when i was in middle school or younger. romp around the grounds for a bit and run into people you hadn't seen since school let out a few months previous. its dirty stinky and sweaty, all those things that stir up fond memories. nowa days i usually visit the animals and avoid the people and rides as much as i can. i love sheep! fair food is greasy and delicious, my dad is a huge fan of that.

a few sketch paintings im working on. im not sure if theyre done. i want to work some more on fall ghost. im getting excited for fall to come. the days are already getting shorter. summer didnt seem long enough. but for the fall. oh me oh my, its coming. i get giddy thinking about it, my entire soul shivers.

autumn ghost is the rush of all the cozy past falls in one euphoric apple pie. there is something in me thats all for cooler nights that require a jacket or cardigan, the trees aged by the year that must put off the leaves, turn them into beautiful colours and drop. the harvest of foods and the feasting of them. that is what gets me excited. these ghosts. i am incredibly content. peaceful and happy.

enjoy the last of summer, the best season is yet to come.

yesterday, medina township dedicated a memorial for fallen soldiers and my brother devin in particular. there was a ceremony, some nice words were said, devin was honoured. it was all very nice of everyone to go through such an effort. i would much rather have my brother than any of this though. it has allowed an outpouring of love in the community. people got together, organized a space for this statue in a new park down the way from our house. they organized this ceremony. yeah im sure there was some political stuff happening but im far enough removed. most was motivated by love and thats what i received and for that im grateful. i still dont know what to make of it all though.

i come from small town midwest. its pretty funny how time stops here. maybe because of the towns characteristics, maybe because its where i grew up. everything seems stagnate and doesnt change. this is small small small town midwest, also called medina. i stopped around 10 in the morning after driving all through the night, got a burger and a coke at the medina cafe. i chatted with the lady working there, she had a wonderful thick north dacota accent. ever seen fargo? like that. it was quiet and slow. all the women were excited for mothers day tomorrow. they made a cake. with pineapples. there were a few cafes and bars in the town, a general store, bank, laundromat and an antique store.

hai! toured around denver a frew days. great sculptures and architectures. the crazy pointy building is the art museum. it tried hard to impress and it was hard not being impressed. it was a great boat. as well as the walking bridge. if you put your ear to one of the cables and punch it an amazing noise is heard. everything is in nice walking distance here and theres some fun things to do, nice restaurants and its got pizazz! im not writing a review in a travel magazine by the way.

i spent a week with brady in colorado. i approve. we had fun fun with nick in the mountains. walked to the top of the world and looked down on everyone in a non-con descending way. throwing rocks has always been one of my favourite things. i would throw rocks in my driveway and try to make them in the pond in my front yard. my older brothers could do it but i was too small. i would always throw short into the grass then my dad would get mad because he would hit them with the mower.
skipping stones is a form of rock throwing. that has also been one of my absolute favourite things. it is my dream career to be a stone skipper.
throwing stones is universal. i was asked by a little norwegian boy to play. "hva skal vi gjore?" i asked.
"kaste steiner!"
so on top of the mountain we decided to throw rocks off it. probably pretty dangerous. then an even greater idea! we should throw a big stone and try to hit it with another one!
success!
it took many tries but it was fun from the first to the last.

watched a film in french. the star wars queen was in it, and the frodo. twas much fun. i watch more movies than usual. i listen to iron & wine. they help balance my moods. pick me up when im down, calm me down when im worked up. radiohead works well too. music works wonders. its influenced so much in life. im ready for summer to come, im ready to start something new. the holy day was yesterday and what a day it was day. i went with lyn Z (she raps) to a hari krishna festival and people threw colour everywhere. we sang and danced and i thought. it felt amazing something big is around the bend. the sun was out, it made amazing colours in the sky and on the mountains. i was thoughtless and careless, it was wonderful and beautiful. i cut my long baby hair. then i went to cafe rio.
and so today it snows.
so much for the carefree summer around the corner, oh whell. im happy, that matters.
live and love life. it looks cheesy but it gets me through the days.

on the road home from tucson oh to travel, verb, its wonderful on the road. thank you jack kerouac. i wanted to spend the night in my car on the side of the road. i wanted to camp and be a true traveling bum but none of that was really happening. i was dreaming of mexico, thanks jack, drug wars and being alone stopped me. i was feeling adventurous at the time and camping sounded top notch. n e ways, i was driving around the grand canyon area and stopped for the night. just slept in my car on the side of the road. the sun was down, the stars were out, i was feeling well.
later, around four, the moon was out, and i was bored. so i listened to some music for a while, layed in my car and thought. eventually i got out my guitar and sat in the middle of the road, sorrouned by silence, darkness, and i sang out loud loud. all of the animals and stars listened, the moon enjoied too. i made a little concert. i was going a bit insane alone but it was fun.
i was back in my car and waiting patiently for the sun to come up. i wanted to see it rise. i wanted to see what was around me. i wanted to see the red sun glow on the red rocks of the canyon. then it came! the sky glowed a blue. soon soon it will be here. and hope filled my little soul. i was soooooo happy. i never wait for much and this taught me that patience is important. good things come to those who wait. it was a cold desert night and as i danced up and down this bridge i found and out in the air i was warmed more and more. the sun was bring such goodness to me, the secrets were revealed that the night was hiding. i could see a river in the canyon, i could see it moving. i could see mountains unvealed then cliffs and rocks and birds and everything was coming to life. it was making me alive and making me happy.
patience i was leaning, thanks to kara as well, she teaches me well. i will try to not be hasty.
and the life i was enjoying, waiting and watching the sun rise was wonderful for my health.

paint paint paint all week week week. maybe i will show you what im painting for classes someday. but for now i will show you some jolly cozy friends. i want a beard so bad. i want a cabin in the woods with a wood burning stove. i may have mentioned this fantasy once before but it keeps coming back to me. this one poured out. a cute little couple. i love their colours. i was designing some little statues, wondering if i should paint the statues like the pictures. what do you think?

i think i will move to england and shop at the organic food store every day. then cook some tasty food and ride bikes.

i think i will go on a scandinavian tour. iceland to norway to denmark to sweden. tasting all of the delicious events and savory meats these countries have to offer. im not a fan of seal but i wouldnt mind trying it again. i am a fan of caviar, reindeer and whale. especially the reindeer. there

were so many meals of comfort with that wonderful beast inside. its magical.

i think i will move to utah and teach guitar.

i want a scooter. they are absolutely magical. there is no doubt about that. i have never been happier than when i was on a scooter.

end of the week was amazing! i went to provo. it was soo oh oh much fun. saturday was concert night. i didnt know there were such cool buildings in provo to house concerts and crush parties. red brick walls, thrift store furniture, christmas string lights and the cafe had snes super mario world on an old tv. i was impressed by the coolness. oh yes the band show. great opener elsinore did their job well of getting everyone on their feet and dancing. i know i was when they covered postal service so well. but their stuff is even better so check them out. singers voice is mind blowing. bands rocking ability is virginity taking. drew danburry played next, hes one of my favourites to watch. so much fun sing along energized and emotional kindergarden folk rock. he cried for his last song. check him out for sure. and his name is drew! just like me. so check them both out. serious. listen to their musics, enjoy, browse their other sites and fotos and moving pictures.

monday was schoolless so i was still there. lynzie is the coolest girl ever, we wrote a song together and played a show for friends in said awesome provo cafe. it was such a fun experience for me, i was burning with happiness and hope for the rest of the night. i would love so much to make musics with her again so maybe i should be moving to provo.

the great west ern frontier! i really like it out here. theres not as much green and its dry but i am happy. i love driving through wyoming. is big and beautiful. reminds me of myself. these smokestacks were awesome to see. there are tons of beautiful views across the land. a lot of time too. i spent it alone in my car with musics and thoughts. i was pretty impressed by myself for making the trek in a day and some. i slept in the car and almost froze to death. it was a driving dream for me. this is the first time ive driven across alone.

papa and his brothers go hunting on thanksgiving. its a great tradition. i joined in this time. probably one of my best experiences. being outside in the cold still land. we walked back into the back of dads farm. didnt see anything but felt everything. im having a wonderful thanksgiving. everything i dreamed it would be. uncle art is the youngest like me but papa said hes the best shot. he goes hunting a bunches. i think hes pretty great. this year i got to spend time with him preparing the clam bake, which is also a wonderful thing. warm apple cider, spiced of course, and clams, potatoes, corn on the cob wonderful fall get together. one of the things on my cozy list. oh you dont know about my obsession with cozy? oh me oh my.

i died and the les made a dog portrait of me. it was pretty nice of them. then we take off on the jfk all the way home to ohio. theres turkey and family awaiting us. the time spent in the city was wonderful. i learned so much. one thing being its not really for me. it chewed me up and spit me out. made me a bit harder. i like being outside. from where i sit now i can say im happier. very happy in idaho. even though i never dreamed of that. but but, ill get to idaho later.

bam bam bam. i just went for walks at night. it was fun. i was spending more and more time alone and looking forward to thanks giving. i spent more time with dusty. just being with him was so much fun. im glad i stayed the last month. we drank hot chocolate and played a lot of atari. the vintage chill was running through my body again. dusty had a writer that types as well so i enjoyed time on that. his girlfriend is amazing too. we call her KK, shes from taiwan and we had much funs. like eating in a decked out bavarian restaurant. the place was covered in christmas decorations. its all about the mood. and i was in the mood to get home and spend time with the family. just like when i was a kid. i believe the term is nostalgia and i was feeling a lot of it.

it rained some. so much for fall. i enjoyed the central park but i was missing the nature. i left the island a few times. once to long island to go to a haunted corn maze. sounds cheesy but it was a blast. the best part was trying to find matt because he ran through the whole thing then scaring matts wife miho. shes cute small and japanese!

i enjoyed very much meeting so many different people from so many different places. i worked at the movie theater on union square, i was meeting people from all over the place. i loved talking with scandinavians because i got to speak norwegian to them. it always made my day. i try and learn as many languages as i can. even if its just hi and thank you. i got to meet a lot of the world in one city.

i went on a lot of lonely walks. taking the train up to harlem and walking back down. i stopped in at saint johns cathedral. its huge! and central park. also huge. the architecture of the city is an amazing art alone. its very fun, fun indeed.

i got to spend some time with folks from my work. new yorkers! they were super rad and nice to me. i was acting like such a nerd. i wanted to experience what all of the movies have been showing me since i was a kid. glamorous new york! i wanted to be eating at the dirty beat dives with the best food. living this new york hipster life. i come to find im not really cut out for it. i went with my friends to the mall in queens at ate bourbon chicken at the food court. it was wonderful. life is the same everywhere and anywhere. its still america. so i went back to the streets and took pictures of doors.

i created my own new york dream. i ate at veselkas, a twenty four seven ukrainian restaurant on ninth. they have the best chocolate custard and warm apple cider. i went there for comfort. also i become more of a fan of corporate mcdonalds and starbucks. theyre pretty cool and consistent. good comfort as well.

here i fell in love with some art. armour and weapons! how cool for artifacts. paintings galore! chuck close, warhol, monet so big and beautiful in all their glory and wonder. its an experience for sure. the met is a collection of wonderful things people have made since we landed on earth. i think theyre inspiring and grand. people can make some beautiful stuff. it was fun for me to grove to some music and enjoy history.

After all of that talk about the slow and simple i escape to the big apple. my brother is living there going to school at SVA. grad studies yadda yadda. he basically has a blast making art. i got to help. it was a blast. drawing on chalk boards. playing atari. making movies. hanging out with awesome foreign kids. thats art school for ya.

my brothers name is dusty, he set me up with this amazing two month experience.

i did a lot of viewing new york city with this character matt. we are at a ukrainian street festival on the street where i lived. i lived with my brothers friends mom on second street. i got to see a new york film festival viewing of che with said brothers friend, gary. that was also because of matt, also brothers friend but both are my friends now. these native new yorkers took care of me a lot and i was grateful. on to other adventures!

small towns and cow farms

i wish i wish . was life just a joy in the olden days? when everything was simple. i imagine myself running down to the little store, the weymouth pantry and getting some penny candies or something. buying mamma the bread and milk. then going down to the river bridge and play.

maybe catch a game of chess with some old men in the park.

my dad has a farm! its really fun to go there. once a tree had a bees hive in it. like on winnie the pooh. when he gets his head stuck in it and he his happy because theres tons of honey in it.

well there was this hive and the tree fell down in a big storm. so we pulled out all of the wax and ate some honey. there wasnt much left. the bees took it away we assumed. but it was the best honey ive ever had. the wax was pretty good too.

my mom is awesome.

we dont live on this farm so it makes it more special for me to visit.

slow and simple.

i think it would be wonderful to live on a farm in europe makin cheese from my own cows. gathering eggs from the chickens and baking bread from wheat that my neighbor just ground. fresh. its nice that way. how romantic. but why not?

this is summer lesson! i like old things. like typewriters and abandoned sheds. we used to play with this on all the time when we were little. we being my brother and local drunks. i guess i am a sucker for vintage.

i also love trees and most things nature. i think i want to be a mountain man but i just dont have the right hookups or something. im more likely to become an artist. im fine with that too.

rivers and bridges are so much fun as well. all three of these things make up a huge part of my childhoood. i went on a few walks this summer to check them out and take pictures. i ended up playing like a looser kid. all alone.
